Minister of Health Dr. Liya Tadesse, State Ministers of Health Dr. Dereje Duguma and W/ro Sahrela Abdullahi visited EPHI’s Public Health Emergency Operation Center, the laboratory and call center which was followed by a discussion with the team.

Sahrela Abdullahi, a State Minister at the Ministry of Health, stated today in her speech on the occasion of the inauguration of the new national Blood Bank Building that it is planned to collect Ten Thousand unit of blood nationally in a day through a theme known as Life for Life; Save Life by donating blood. 

The State Minister also said that the national Blood Bank Service is working hard to provide quality and secured blood as per the needs of the ever advancing healthcare services and healthcare facilities in the country. She also noted that the new national Blood Bank Building was built by support from the Government of the United State of America.  The Ministry of Health has developed a strategy to enhance the culture of blood donation.
