Every Muslim knows that lying is one of the major sins in Islam. Therefore, this khutbah will not address the dangers of lying. Instead, this khutbah will shed light on the many different forms of lying which many of us fall into unknowingly.For more details: http://www.islam-qa.com/en/ref/books/99"O you who believe! Be afraid of Allaah, and be with those who are true (in word and deeds)." [al-Tawbah 9:119]"It is only those who believe not in the Ayaat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of Allaah, who fabricate falsehood, and it is they who are liars." [al-Nahl 16:105]It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "The signs of the hypocrite are three: when he speaks, he lies; when he makes a promise, he breaks it; and when he is entrusted with something, he betrays that trust." (Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 33; Muslim, 59)It was narrated that Hafs ibn 'Aasim said: "The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: 'It is sufficient lying for a man to speak of everything that he hears.'" (Narrated by Muslim, 5)__________________________Abu Usamah was born in New Jersey in 1964. He embraced Islam in 1986 and went onto studying in the Islamic University of Madina for eight years where he graduated from the College of Da'wah and Usool-ad-Din.Abu Usamah has been very active in da'wah since the day he embraced Islam. He has been the Imam of various mosques in the United States and in the United Kingdom. He is currently the imam at Green Lane masjid in Birmingham.His zeal and eagerness in conveying the true message of Islam has lead him to many parts of the world, delivering lectures and seminars, as well as translating for many scholars and du'aat from the Arab world.Abu Usamah has been blessed in studying with some of the greatest scholars of our time, to name a few, Shaikh Umar Fulaatah at the Rawdah of the Prophets Mosque, Shaikh Muhammad 'Atiyyah Saalim (author of Tafsir 'Adwaa ul-Bayaan'), Shaikh Abdullah Muhammad al-Ghunaymaan, Shaikh Muhammad al-Jaami, Shaikh Saalih al-Fawzaan and many more. He was also very fortunate to have spent two summers in intensive study under Shaikh Ibn Baaz and Shaikh Ibn Uthaymin.
