A stone was laid in the foundation of a world-class mosque in Addis Ababa He laid the foundation stone in the presence of Deputy Mayor of the City of Addis Ababa, Mr. Takale Uma, the Chairperson of the Council of Islamic Affairs of Ethiopia, Mufti Hajj Omar Hirsi, and President of the Council of Islamic Affairs, Sheian Authority Aman. After this, the Deputy Mayor has submitted a Certificate of Acquisition for 71 mosques in the city. The mosque, which will be built on the 30,000-square-foot front of the African Union Hall, is said to be an Islamic center within it.
He thanked Prime Minister Abby Ahmed and E. Thakke Uma for contributing to his good work. It is also believed that the construction of the mosque would answer the long-standing question of the Muslim community.
