Samira Fedali, Acting Administrator of the US Economic Council, made the announcement at the White House yesterday.

Samira Fedali spoke about the US economy and job opportunities and answered questions from journalists.

Samira's parents are from Kashmir, India, and Samira was born in New York State. Both parents are doctors.

Samira holds a bachelor's degree in social sciences from Harvard University. She is a Juris Doctor (JD) graduate from Yale University and a mother of three. Samira was the first Hijabist in the United States to speak at a press conference, but she was not the first Hijab-wearing woman adviser.
