The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "It will be said to the companion of the Qur'an: Recite and rise in status, recite as you used to recite in the world, for your status will be at the last verse that you recite.""Memorizing, purifying recitation and intoning of Quran has played a tremendous role in preserving Quran verses throughout The Islamic history and enabled Muslims all over the world to read, memorize and recite Quran the same way it was memorized read and recite during the time of Prophet Muhammad(peace be upon him)" said Shaykh Abu Usamah al Thahabi in the third day of a seven lecture series for the non Arabic speaking Muslim communities living in UAE held ,as a part of the 9th Ramadan forum organized by the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM).Shaykh Abu Usamah, Imam of the Green Lane Masjid at Birmingham UK, told the audience that Memorizing and reciting Quran in Ramadan, opens the gates of Paradise to Muslims and the position and ranking of a Muslim at the Judgment Day will be determined by how much and how well he memorizes and recites Quran.Abu Usamah explained that reading ,memorizing, intoning and reciting Quran has dramatically altered the lives of hundreds and thousands of non Arabs, who did not only learn the Noble Quran and purified it's recitation but also became well known Islamic scholars in different parts of the world.Shaykh Abu Usamah told the audience that Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was the most eloquent man on earth , when it came to reading, memorizing, reciting and intoning of Quran, and he was eloquent the most when memorizing, reciting and intoning Quran during Ramadan."Every day Angel Gabriel would come to tell and teach the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) how to read, recite memorize and intone Quran, the way Allah wanted him to" said Abu Usamah.Shaykh Abu Usamah affirmed that Allah's light shines in the heart of every Muslim who reads, memories, and recites the Quran the same way Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) did."Foreign Muslim communities working in the Arab lands should not enslave themselves to collecting money rather they should recognize that being here is a Mercy from Allah not only to learn Arabic the language of Al-Quran, but also to be able to visit nearby Mecca and Medina without incurring big costs" said Shaykhh Abu Usamah.Shaykhh Abu Usamah added that despite the fact that nobility and lineage was deeply rooted in Mecca and Medina before and at the time of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) memorizing, reading ,reciting and intoning of Quran was the only exception of nobility and hierarchy. And Khalifah Omer bin Al-Khattab implemented this rule, when he accepted that a free salve takes care of noble subjects In Mecca when the Emir of Mecca came to meet him at Medina."Outside Ramadan, Generous Allah rewards his worshipers with ten times Hassanat for every letter they memorize from Quran , but in Ramadan the rewards are limitless, and this is why Ramadan is a golden opportunity for every Muslim to gain Hassanat" said Shaykh Abu Usamah.Shaykh Abu Usamah explained that Muslim women have a very crucial role to play not only by reading, memorizing ,reciting and intoning the Noble Quran, but also by passing this treasure to their children in the earliest age as possible, but if they remained occupied by fashion and dress only, they will faced with a tremendous loss during and after their lives.Abu Usamah, At-Thahabi was born and raised in Passalc New Jersy ,he is the third eldest of four children., He converted toIslam` in 1986, and applied to attend the univerisity of Medianh, as was the practice of many new converts to Islam at that time.He completed his BSc in Usool-Ul-Deen, and learned the Arabic language..After his graduation from the University, Abu Usamah went to teach in the UK before returning to the US in 1996 in order to pursue his first position of Imam of Orlando Florida. He was an imam at mosques in phliadephia clevland Peroial before he moved to the UK, where he surfaced briefly in Keighley before moving to Birmingham, UK to take up his place at Ghreen Lane Mosque.
